Modern Astrology as a personal, social and relationship tool has only very recently regained some of the favour that it has enjoyed in historical societies. Astrology has gone through a significant growth since the founding of modern astrology in the 1930s by such philosophical thinkers as Dane Rudhyar and Marc Edmund Jones. Astro-Counselling & Directional Astrology is indebted to these pioneers of Humanistic and Psychological Astrology, and other modern astrologers.
Astro-Counselling & Directional Astrology is a unique style of Astrology formulated on the broad Humanistic approach. I use the Astrological Natal Chart to uncover a client’s underlying personality, and Astrological progressions and planetary transits to place them in the current time frame. I also use Astro-mapping to determine where about in the world one might expect to find what one is looking for, and which places to avoid. Some psychologists and counsellors use personality profile questionnaires to provide insight into the motivations and behaviours of their clients. Such methods rely on client answers to leading questions and a highly skilled interpretation, also they rely on honesty and are offset by the cleverness of the respondent, and rarely, if ever relate the present situation to the ever evolving individual’s personal development and potential.

How is a Natal Chart is Derived?
A natal chart is derived from the position of the planets in the Solar System compared to the geographical location at the time of birth. There are a number of scientific explanations for the effects that such positions have on the new-born child. My style of presentation is through a rational approach comparing the traditional symbolic meanings of the planets to what is now known scientifically about them. After all, to have any faith in any system requires some experiential evidence for it.
The geocentric chart shows the positive and negative characteristics a person will manifest in their Earthly sojourn. The Heliocentric (Sun centred) chart indicates their soul (or inner) qualities. The relationship between these two viewpoints indicates how well they are likely to integrate into a physical body, and what lessons they have come to learn at the personal level.
The Basic Session
In the first session it is essential to determine whether the given time is accurate and/or to rectify the chart according to actual events that have occurred during the lifetime. Accuracy is important in order to understand the personality typology, and home, family, work and relationship issues. This is usually a recorded 1½ hour session discussing your basic character and personal issues.
Subsequent Sessions
Together we concentrate on those changes you wish to make in life, setting directions and making those life altering decisions that align with your overall personality. Using Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), hypnosis and other transformation techniques I can help you develop towards your fullest potential, both personally and in business.
Astrology is a symbolic language relating to imprinting and the cycles of time, and the most major of these cycles is the yearly return of the sun to its natal position each birthday. Symbolically, the solar return sets the parameters for the oncoming year, and shows which arenas of life are likely to become issues.
Some decisions are more effective if formalised at a specific time, for example the forming of a company, or a move to a new house or office, planning a wedding, etc. Such time co-ordinates of time and place can be identified.
In most circumstances light can be thrown on the deeper currents that show up as life struggles, and with this aid direct and appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions can be made.Often the impact of social pressures affect one’s life in a specific location. These pressures may not be as strong at other locations. Locations aligned with particular activities can be identified, if they exist for you.
All of the therapeutic techniques used are result directed. Successful therapeutic change is measured behaviourally, in practice, in the environment that the person lives in. Thus, sometimes for full recovery interventions are necessary within the whole family dynamics.
